Moving On

Time for a rethink of this blog.

The feeling lately is that things are changing.  I sense it in the air.  People's lives are changing.  It's the end of an era.

I started this blog over two years ago.  Well, no. Really I started it's predecessor "notanumber" over two years ago and when that community died off I began Sonrisa.  I feel I have changed a lot in the time I have written this blog and I feel I want a new blog to start a new chapter. Not a chapter that's only just begun, but a chapter that began maybe a while ago.  Nothing mysterious, it's just that I have been changing so much and I think a lot of the ideas I started out with have changed.  So, with this in mind,I am moving on to a new blogging chapeter, a volume 2 in the blogging life of Kirsty.

I will be in touch with details of where to find me.

Sonrisa xx

Happy New Year

Happy New Year all!

My resolutions.  It's no use me making any, but I will try.

Continue to learn may languages.

Embrace every moment.

Make more of an effort to keep in contact with my mates.

Lose my belly for once and for all.

Eat in such a way I not only look better but I feel more energetic.

Make more jewellery.

Spend time with the ones I love most.

Become a polyglot (person who speaks many languages).

Go to Bucharest and Lisbon.

Be less selfish.

Merry Christmas

Brilliant Christmas!  The best bit has been being able to spend a bit of time doing absolutely nothing for a bit.  It's lovely to see the family and it has been great seeing Someone Special who is my support.

I've got some great gifts and my gifts went down quite well with the family, so I am happy.  We've eaten, drank and slobbed out in front of the telly which is THE perfect way to spend Christmas Day.  It's not over yet, though.  I'm looking forward to the left overs tomorrow and hanging out with my ickle sis.  I don't know if I'll be seeing extended family tomorrow.  I always get nervous when I've been away for a bit.  I don't really know what to talk to them about!

I've been lucky enough to receive a great book today on jewellery making which is fantastic.  I'm already sketching ideas for future projects but I can't do any of them as yet.  You need so much equipment, I think I first of all need a house to fit it all in, secondly, I need a bank loan to pay for it all, or a rich husband, or, perish the thought, a proper job!  So, I'll stick to beads for now and make lots of doodles in my sketch book.  My dad is going to show me how to solder at some point.  It seems you have to be very decisive, organised and tidy to make the best of all your materials.  Not sure whether I have the capacity to be any of those things.  One day, one day.

So, I have thought about my blogger mates today and I hope you've all had a fantastic couple of days and may it continue tomorrow!

Merry Christmas.

xx

Thoughts for the week ahead

I'm supposed to be doing a bit of work to get a head start before Christmas.  My support, my angel, my everything is flying over on Monday to come and see me and I'm so looking forward to giving him a big squeezy hug.  We're spending three nights in the youth hostel in Tours where I live and then one night in Paris before I return to the UK for Christmas.  I'll get to see Paris at Christmas, it will be amazing.  Though I've been to Paris a few times, I'm  sure that it is different when you're with the one you love.  I want to see Notre Dame, Montmartre and whatever Someone Special wants to see.  The few days in France will be a bit busy meeting my friends to show off my gorgeous man.  Then, when we return home, I will get to relax with my family, go see his family, watch films, swing dance, maybe go out for a drink or ten in Liverpool, who knows.

I'm wondering how to squeeze my presents into my suitcase.  They are all nicely wrapped and I don't want them  to arrive under the tree all dog-eared and squashed.

Being away from home has been great. I'm enjoying the adventure immensely.  I'm still keen to carry on, I'm ready for Spain and the rest of Tours.  I do, however, miss so much about home.  It's hard being here at the moment without home comforts.  At least we're all in it together.  I can't wait to see my man.  So this is the last bit of moaning I'm going to do....I'm finishing writing this now, I'm  going to bed and I'm going to enjoy the last week before Christmas.

Jumbled Up!

So now I've mastered the fine art of earring making.  I am so happy!  But why do beads have to cost so much?  I want to learn so many different techniques of jewellery making.  I found a really great blog for any jewellery enthusiasts.  I think the world of jewellery making may keep me very, very busy.  There are so many different ways to do it and I'd love to do a silvermith course in the future.  I get carried away.  My life goes in this order (in theory!):-

University - e.g. French and Spanish.  Mainly French right now.

Other languages that I take a fancy to.

Arty crafty things.... (painting, card-making, now earrings...)

Dancing - I very rarely dance now but I'm sure Someone Special will sort that out over the Christmas hols as 'tis the season to swing dance, evidently!  I do have to admit I still dance to my CDs round my room in the style of Hugh Grant in Love Actually.

I'm such a passionate person about lots of things.  I can't concentrate on what I'm supposed to be doing.  But I have to admit my life is fun because of it!

On another subject entirely, Someone Special is coming to visit me next week and I can't wait!

The rain in Tours seems to be pouring more and more!

So I am sitting here waiting for my feet to dry off.  I'm not sure I want to go outside again and risk getting trench foot.  I'm waiting to evolve.  When will I get my flippers?  Because with the trend for jeans that suck up enough water to irrigate the Kalahari, I'm beginning to get fed up of going outside.  But I want to see the Christmas market!

I think I'm in need of a hot chocolate.

Have to say...

Miracle of miracles, I think I am about to have the earliest night ever, at 12.30 am!  Usually it's more the two or three o'clock mark.  No wonder I'm attracting colds.

I really miss my boyfriend.  We've been together two years and three days.  Nearly four days.  I always look forward to seeing him.  I want to celebrate with him.  I guess I'll have to wait.

Hot, hot, hot

I think I'm menopausal!  I'm having hot flushes since my last post.
