Excitement!

- I have tomorrow and Monday off, so I can go with 8 friends to a rented house beside the beach and chill. (It's not a hen party, it's a gathering of like-minded people. And I just may happen to have both Singstar and Wii Sports in my luggage...)

- I got our confirmation and invoice for our honeymoon yesterday. Everything is booked and ready to go, all we need to do is pay the (OHMYGODthatsalotofmoney) balance. I am BEYOND excited and into hyperventilation territory.  

- I FEEL GREAT. Over the last three months I've called a halt to a lot of my crap eating habits (no more three bars of chocolate a day) and I've lost a stone. I did want to lose weight for ages, but it's been gradual and without any crash dieting so I'm very happy about it. Woot!

- I had an appointment with a dermatologist on Tuesday and have a whole new batch of assorted skincare products to hopefully help with my poor sensitive/reactionary face so fingers crossed. (You know, I was going to say 'drug-addled' face as all my arthritis prescription drugs have wrecked my skin, but then realised that sounded rather Pete Doherty...)

- I passed my driving test. HUZZAH!

- In 51 days I'll be a Mrs, and there's TONS left to do but hey, the dress, church and venue are all sorted so *sticks out tongue to everything else*

(That may well come back to bite me on the arse but hey! Today's my Friday!)

- I have an actual metric ton of work to do but I. DON'T. CARE.

Blimey

It's been an eternity since I checked in on platform 27, let alone did a proper entry... I suppose I can go months without needed to blog, and then have wee spurts of posting up lots of rubbish.

 See, when you've not blogged for ages, it's quite hard to just jump back in and update on the things that you never actually introduced in the first place. So in order to skip that difficult issue, I'll just do this:

 Harry Potter. Less than two days. YAY!

Calling all P27ers!

I need help - and lots of it! Suggestions please for places to take a once-in-a-lifetime trip* to... Keeping in mind I'm not the most active of sorts (hillwalking/gentle swimmage = fine, abseiling/mountain-climbing = dead faint) but am also completely allergic to sun-holidays, where should I start looking?

 Honestly have no idea!

Friday friday

Wahoolahey!

Today I:

- resisted having chips for lunch.

- sent out Eurovision party email invites.

- sat in the park and felt the warmth of the sun on my face.  

Oh, and I may have lied to a priest. Whoops.

Bit & pieces

Went swimming last night and actually broke myself. Ow.

Sloth (a deady, but very enjoyable sin)

Last night, I cooked a lovely stirfy supper, chatted for a while with my housemate, then packed my swimming bag with all the necessities: swimsuit, towels, flip flops, wee bottles of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and moisturiser. I checked the pool timetable: 9pm-10pm, 'adults only'. Excellent. Enough time then to relax a little before having a healthy swim.

Except I lay on my bed and watched television for two hours instead. Sigh.

Uploading pictures

Is anyone else having difficulty uploading pictures? I can't upload at all, and had this problem last week too...

Which is a shame, since I wanted to share the gorgeously cute Japanese bento box lunchboxes I just bought on e-bay. Darn it!

Boo!

That was Spring creeping up on me... I always find it pretty amazing how seasons change, very subtly at first, but then almost overnight it seems everything has changed.  I kind of love April, even though it's still a bit chilly and unpredictable, it's been lovely to finally feel the warmth of the sun on my face again. It feels good to pack away scarves, gloves and hats too, and swap my great big russian submariner (submarinist?) coat for my jaunty red sping mac. 

I know that talking about the weather is one of our greatest cliches, but I think I genuinely love watching how the weather changes throughout the seasons (this never seems to get monotonous, even in the depths of an Irish winter). Easter weekend was the first beautifully sunny spell we've had since last year, and it seemed everyone was the better for it. I remember chatting with Mr Man some time ago about how great it would be to live in a sunny climate, but he actually likes the Irish climate - mild and moderate, without harsh extremes or predictable seasons. I think he's kind of right, but all the same, I'm glad the sun has finally made an appearance.

April showers

I can't believe it's already April. I feel like time is sliding and slipping away from me, and I've so much to do already...

We seem to be getting a little further in securing our new house. We've paid the deposit in full, had the snag list carried out and have finally gotten our mortgage and life insurance sorted. We haven't a completion date yet though and until we get the keys in our little grubby mitts I'm not celebrating.

We're also trying to organise getting married later this year, and it's proving very difficult to make the decisions that count: where, what and how... without offending anyone of course.

Work is being really stressful and difficult, with far longer hours than I'm normally used to so I'm feeling rubbish and tired all the time.

I don't seem to be able to muster energy or enthusiasm for much at the moment, but hopefully (as Bono might say) it's just a moment and it will pass...

Current mood: going a bit mental if truth be told (AND I'm listening to Bono... nuff said)
