Sick Joke Time.

Well it's taken about a week for these to come through to me. Quite a long time in the world of topical sick humour. I had Diana Jokes later the same day, I had Twin towers jokes only hours after the event.

So here we go:

What have Virginia & Antarctica got in common?

They're both Minus 33.*

And

What's the coldest place in America?

Virginia... It's Minus 33.

*Yes 33, I had someone question the figure. They forget that the bloke who shot 32 people also killed himself. Duh. that makes 33.

Hope you're not too jealous.

Just to make you jealous. A short film of me paddling. I might loop it & during the dark days of winter sit & watch it for hours. It was a lovely warm day in Cornwall.

Post Cards are the New Blogging

No it's not some meme or trend I found online, it's not something I read about in the Lifestyle or Style section of a newspaper. It's something I've just decided.

I was away in France the other week & being a rubbish blogger I've not blogged it properly. Ah well C'est la vie, as I believe they say over there.

Yes I did have a nice time thank you & I may get round to catching up & blogging it. Don't hold your breath though. I'm afraid I was having too much fun to be writing it up for all you lovely online people & then got busy once I returned to Blighty.

One of the things I did on the last day was spend a while sitting in a cafe, enjoying the view, whilst writing a few postcards to friends, relatives & Net Pals1

As a result, I had texts, phone calls, e-mails & comments from the people I sent cards to. I enjoyed writing them & I enjoyed hearing back from the people I sent them to. It also made me realise how much I enjoy getting postcards myself. Mail that is fun, mail that isn't bills & isn't trying to sell me stuff.

So.

I'm off to Kernow2 this weekend with a friend (accomplice) I've known since Polytechnic, to visit another friend (partner in crime) from Poly' days

The fact that I've known these people since Poly' may give you a clue to the fact that I've known them for quite a while, as every bugger seems to go to a University nowadays. If you don't know what a Polytechnic was, you might want to ask your parents. Whilst you're at it ask them about O levels & CSE's.

Sorry to come over all patronising, but I'm feeling my age & the change in our times at the moment.

Anyway.

I'll be scribbling on some post cards whilst I'm away at the weekend. If you fancy a picture of Cornwall dropping through your letter box, with some writing on the back in my own fair scrawl. E-mail me a postal address I can send a card to & I'll pop something in the post for you.

1 - A neologism I've just coined. It describes people you know from online, probably self explanatory. If you like the term please use it.

2 - That's Cornwall, in Cornish.

A Test

Yeah yeah I know. Kind of dull as a message. Does what it says on the tin though.

A message from a palm via the home WiFi.

Not a proper entry

As there is a new feature, the Tag or Keyword thing, I just wanted to try it out. Yes I admit it. If I was a cat I would've used up all my nine lives years ago due to curiosity.

How would you've done it?

Sitting in a pub beer garden people watching. A bloke brings out a fresh bottle of beer for himself & a pint glass with some more ice in for his Girlfriend. She is drinking Cider over ice & still has around 2/3rds of a pint left in her glass, but no ice.

As soon as I saw what was going on I had an intuition that the lass would drop the ice into the cider. if I drank cider diluted by ice. I would've poured the Warm Cider over the fresh ice.

Why?

Tipping the ice into the cider would have the potential to cause splashing. The lass had exactly that problem. I on the other hand would've used a steady hand* & a keen eye to pour tha warm cider onto the ice.

Ok a kind of dull pedantic entry. I like the fact that my intution was right about the lass, spookily psychic almost.

What would you've done?

*Obviously I've had my first drink of the day & my hands have stopped shaking :)

Wow! This e-mail coming from mobile phone. Cool eh?

En Vacances

Starting to get excited now. I'm off to the continent for a few days. Spending tonight in London then all aboard the Euro Star Tomorrow.
After some delays (signal failures & so on) I'm zooming south.
Hopefully I get to see a cheese eating surrender monkey in its native habitat. I'll have to ask if the hotel does a snail & frog leg platter with chips. Or frittes as I will have to be calling them. What else am I looking forward to? knocking onion sellers off their bicycles, seeing aristos being beheaded. Any other stereotypical cliches I should be looking out for? I will of course be wearing a pin striped suit & bowler hat at all times. Well except when I'm not wearing union jack shorts & a beer stained vest.
Let's hope the CSE grade 5 French from 20 odd years ago comes back to me. I fear I may have to fall back on the The Perfidious Albions preferred method of communication when abroad. Shout. Shout it in English. Shout it very slowly in English.
I do love the fact that I shall be leaving from Waterloo station :)

...and now we go over live to cha0tic at...

Right. My dilettante interweb trawling has found yet another piece of internet malarky to take part in. It's called Video Blogging Week 2007. I've been meaning to give Vlogging a go for a while. Just like I've been meaning to give Podcasting a shot. This event seems like the ideal opportunity to give it a go.

Being as I'm not the most literate, humorous or coherent blogger, don't expect a lot from my posts. If you haven't met me though, it's a chance to see what I look & sound like. So for my first attempt at Vlogging check out this link.

Yes, if I work out how to do it I could probably embed the video in this blog. I need to work out how to do that though.

Don't hold your breath.
