Weird mindfuck

Well I've started getting used to using the alien technology. Using the windows button (yes It's not a proper Mac keyboard) X, C & V for Cut copy & Paste. Then switching my head & hands to Ctrl X, C & V when I use the portable pal.

I'm using Open office now to edit a document on the alien technology & the Keyboard has reverted to The Windows way of things. This is causing some confusion to say the least.

Saturday Night is alright for. The internet.

I swapped nights with the other Clubnight Lampy. I normally do the Saturday & he does the Friday. I did this as Bro' & SiL were meant to be coming down for the Weekend, arriving late Friday. This gave me the Saturday night off to go for a drink or something with them. House problems up North prevented them travelling. Ah well. No worries I've got a Saturday night off to.. er... Do what ever it is that people do on a Saturday night.

Go to a club I suppose. Fuck Off. I normally work in a Club on a Saturday Night that's the last thing I'm going to do. I have ended up in my local for last orders where I'm typing this.

The early part of the evening was spent with the radio & mooching around the net in a desultory manner until I decided to continue inputting books onto LibraryThing & Preparing to release some of them into the wild via bookcrossing & a local charity shop..

Terry Pratchetts Discworld Books are going, besides the first two as they're still quite fresh & funny. The franchise hasn't made them go stale like a lot of the others. I've realised that his books are unlikely to ever go out of print & will be around in charity shops for years, if I do want to read them again. They're not first editions or anything special like that & most of them came from Charity shops anyway. I suppose I could slice them up, put them on the scanner, run the resulting files through some OCR software & keep them as E-books. Nah. That's too much like hard work. I might do it at some point with *a* book though. Just to see how easy or hard it is.

I think Sven Hassle & Leo Kessler will go as well. I've had the books for years & I'm only really holding on to them as sentimental items as, I've had them for so long. (since being a teenager) I'm unlikely to read them again. Though getting rid of them *has* made me think about reading them again. I'm not using that as an excuse for holding on to them though. They're going. I'm not a teenager any more & have my own stories of male mayhem, adventure & cameraderie under (admittedly none lethal) situations. I don't need to keep someone elses stories. Again if I want to read them again. I can probably pick them up from a charity shop.

Jerry Aherns 'The Survivalist series' I think they're going as well. A great pulp read, that helped feed my pre-millenium tension. They're going. The phrase 'Twin stainless Detonics with Pachymar grips' is burned on my brain though.

John Normans 'Gor' series is going. I may see if there are any 'Goreans' that want them as a set. Again they're a series of books that I started reading as a teenager & picked up bit by bit from Charity shops. I started reading them as I'd got into D&D & Fantasy fiction, not realising that there was something else going on in the series. A whole BDSM universe that has now become an internet & life style sub-culture. I may keep the first couple of books as they're half decent pulp fantasy fiction. I did skip throught the 'Philosophy' of servitude sections that constituted the bulk of the later books in the series as I was more interested in the adventure aspect.

Right time to leave the pub & get back to pre-paring books for release.

Single Living.

I have used every plate, knife, fork, spoon, bowl, mug & sensible sized pan in the Kitchen. They are now teetering in piles all over the kitchen. No-one has hassled me. Bliss.

A long day yesterday...

...Which started off very very badly. Only two hours sleep (well half an hour with my eyes shut) as we had to load the Saturday night Club night out. I'm not whinging about that though. No. It's what we do, so I'm used to it & I just catch up with my sleep today.

That wasn't the bad start to my day though.

Oh no. I had to visit Muck Donalds for Breakfast. That's a bad enough start to any ones day. What really spoiled it, was I was in such a hurry to get back from the 'restaurant'. That I forgot to pick up milk for my tea.

If you know me, you know that I can fight dragons & rescue princesses all day long. AS long as I've had a half decent cup of tea first thing.

If I haven't had my tea. I am THE Bear with the sore head; The Troll from the Fairy story & any Billy goats that go trip trap tripping across my bridge are going to get their heads bitten off with no chance for a quick witted escape.

There were a lot of ~~people~~ billy goats missing their heads yesterday morning & no princesses got rescued.

Bloody hell...

Just seen four grands worth of TV. A bargain actually as it was reduced from five thousand. A 70" screen, plus extra bits on the side. I'd have trouble find a place for it to fit in my flat.

Good job it's out of my price range then isn't it.
