Have a good New Years Eve.

I will be working, like I have for the last I dunno how many years. Ah well, we get to charge them extra, so we get paid extra. Otherwise I'd just like to wish everyone a great 2007.

Christmas with Cha0tic

For the past 10 years or so, maybe more, I've been to a friends house for Christmas. A married couple. We've always had a great time eating, drinking & being merry. Earlier this year they split up. Now my first thought wasn't "Oh what am I going to do at Christmas now?" It was about my third thought.

She's got a new chap & he's on his tod. So a few months ago I mentioned I'd be happy to cook for him at Christmas, as I'd always helped his wife anyway. He had a better idea.

We'd go for a curry at his local curry house. It does a Christmas lunch on Christmas day. Genius. No cooking, no washing up & some top food. A skinful of beer & then wobble off to a pals house for more beer & snacks. I'm really looking forward to it.

I'll cook some sprouts sometime between Christmas & New Year though. Christmas isn't Christmas without sprouts. Mind you they night have sprout curry on.

Wow! This e-mail coming from coming from my mobile phone. Cool eh?

Who changed the weather?

I went out earlier in a clear, crisp wintery day. I head out for the launderette & it's foggy, cold & wintery. Warming soup for tea tonight I think.

Mmmmm

Just bottled the Sloe Gin. Obviously I'm having to taste it to make sure it's OK. Mmmm. One and a half bottles of warming ruby goodness.

Another night in hell

Working a Latin Jazz band tonight. Might be able to make the night less bad if I hide the fucking cow bell & either smash up the trumpet or give the player a fat lip. Obviously it would be more satisfying to punch the trumpet player & give him a fat lip so he can't play.

Ah well VileEvils are playing upstairs. Some or all of PWEI apparently. I'll probably pop upstairs & have a look at them.

Curiouser & curiouser said cha0tic

I'm waiting at the bus stop opposite my flat & I spy a short dumpy woman letting herself into the flat with a key. A short dumpy 'woman' who is exactly the same height & build as the short dumpy man who lives in the flat upstairs.

I'd suspected that he might be a cross dresser after an incident in the summer & again acouple of weeks ago when he answered the door to his flat wearing a wig. OK he's bald, but a bob isn't the normal sort of wig a bald bloke would choose to hide his baldness.

LOL. What an interesting neighbourhood I live in.

It was Snowy over the weekend

Well maybe there is a bit of trickery. It's a genuine photo of me in Wolves this weekend*. Bet you didn't know it was so mountainous in the Midlands.

Even though I am carrying a set of skis I won't mention what you can do with a pair of skis. As I think it might upset a certain bloggeress :)

*For the massively curious. It's the back drop that 'Bjorn Again' use on their show.

How curious.

Just left the house & noticed that someone has stolen the aluminium cans from my re-cycling box. Just the Aluminium cans. They left the tin cans & glass.

If any one is going to cash the ally in for scrap It's going to be me. I better start drinking then :)

Feeling kind of virtuous

I've changed all the light bulbs in my house for low energy bulbs: Living room main light, living room side light (this always was Low energy), bedroom main light, bedroom side light (this always was Low energy) Kitchen light.

I haven't changed the bathroom light as it's only ever on for a pee at night. Does anyone know if I should change it? I've not changed the hall light either, as it's on a timer switch. You know the sort of thing? You press it in, then it slowly oozes out, then turns the light off. The outside of the low energy bulb box suggests that they're not suitable for use in this situation. Does anyone know if this is right?

I'm hoping for lower electricity bills & less of a carbon footprint.

Hmmm. Does it all balance out buying low energy bulbs? Do they cost more in carbon footprint to make? Am I helping to make the world better?

Tonight Matthew I will be pissed off

A long week & I could do with going home renting some exploding helicopter films, ordering a dial a pizza & drinking a couple of bottles of wine.

I'm not though.

I'm working for a bunch of bloody evangelical god botherers to help a mate out. I forsee the event starting late. Not running to time & then loads of people hanging about at the end of the night getting in the way when they should fuck off & let us get on with packing down.

They are some of the worst people to do shows for.

Sounds like 'Stiff little Fingers' If you ask me.

Band in the pub below me tonight called 'Drive by Argument'. Sound like a SLF tribute band. I have heard far too much music. Everything sounds like something else.

The Nativity

Just seen an advert for a film called 'The Nativity' with a warning that it contains 'mild images of violence'

I THOUGHT THERE WAS MEANT TO BE A MASSACRE OF CHILDREN IN THE STORY!

That doesn't sound like a mild image of violence if you ask me & you film it properly.

Off for the Weekend

YAYNESS!
As I believe the idiom of the day has it. Finally escaped from the office at 15:45. I tried to get all my work finished Thursday, but things conspired against me. Just past Coventry eaten the butties I got for my tea & cracking on with the bottle of wine. I don't want to be playing catch up when I get down Lahndahn :)

Blinks, Tate Modern slides, Jawing 'til the early hours with Mish & whatever else I can find to do in The Capital. I think I shall resolve to visit London once a quarter. Being such a Hick I still get a buzz when I see a famous land mark Or walk down a street from the Monopoly Board & I actually like going on the tube. It's kind of like Star Trek Matter Transporters. OK not as efficient, but you don't see the places inbetween your start destination & your end destination.
