Bugger I missed a bit.
One of the problems shaving your own head. Just walked into work & some one's pointed out I've got a tuft on the back of my head :/
Wow! This e-mail coming from coming from my mobile phone. Cool eh?

Overhearing by being invisible.
I'm sitting in my local for last orders.
A group of people in the pub having a craic.
They greet a bloke that turns up.
They carry on with the craic.
People from the group leave.
One by one.
Leaving 2 blokes & the greeted bloke.
The bloke they greeted leaves.
One of the 2 blokes remaining phones someone.
"Yeah the Hoover has gone, we'll be round in a bit"
His companion enquires:
"Hoover?"
The bloke that made the phone call says:
"Yeah. He sucks up all the atmosphere"
Cool! I Must be Invisible.
:)

How blatant?
Mate of mine sent me a picture of a delivery he saw. These drug dealers are getting more brazen by the day :)

Fuck socks...
...I've forgotten my meebo login. This means I can't change the colours or log in & be chatted at. Buggery fuck.
I've remembered my skype login though so I'm on that & all 4 of my contacts are off line.
The internet as a medium of communication? Pah!

This Weekend I have mostly been...
...hanging out on the Keyhole Community. The BBS for Google Earth. There is a section called Fun and Games where people post quizzes.
Consequently I've been trawling over the face of Googles Virtual Earth If you've not seen it yet Download it. If you've seen it & were dissapointed try it again, there've been a lot of imagery updates. If last time you looked & it wasn't available for Mac. Look again. It is now.
Be warned though, it's a real life stealing piece of software.
My excuse is it's educational & I'm learning more about the world :)

Multimedia message
Bimbled down my Local & my habitual haunt, the smoke room has no where for me to sit. No worries. With my coat on, a pint of Thatchers cider & a double rum it's warm enough to sit outside :) It is quite balmy for an October night.

Well that was rather bizarre
Just been threatened by a bloke in the pub, but in a most unusual manner. Whilst telling his mate that I was one of the greatest people on earth he was shaking my hand, pulling me over so he could speak in my ear & telIing me how shit I was.
I can be drunk with the best of them. I can be a boring ranting drunkard really easily.
He'd done a bit of work for us in the past & seems to bare some sort of grudge about how he was told how to do the job.
Probably because he's had more than a skinful & inhaled a lot of South American illegal export.
Ah well. He didn't punch me or start a fight, so I'm not bothered.

Alistair Cook
Firstly. If I could remember the order I'd put my different catagories in I could've sent this entry straight to the 'Books, Films, Music & Stuff category' That's how good the moblogging function is on platform27. As it is I'll move it when I get back from the pub.
A friend has lent me the DVD set of Alistair Cooks' 'America - A personal History'. I've had it for a while, but have only started watching it this week.
What a completely brilliant work of Television it is.
Alistair Cook is a familiar voice to me from the radio & his 'Letter from America' used to be habitual listening on the radio.
I'm just at the end of the Civil War episodes & have so much food for thought it's almost tempting to give up smoking to live longer so I can research what I've had my eyes opened to on this excellent series of programmes.
It's obvious from listening to Cooks' radio broadcasts in the past & from watching this series that Cook is a total Americaphile. At the same time he understands that all is not good about the country & never has been. This comes across in the programmes.
For my mind this series of programmes should be compulsory viewing for citizens of the U.S. Here is a chap that loves your country, giving a history of the country, whilst at the same time pointing out the warts in a sympathetic way.
He deals with the War of Independence in a very fair way for a Briton, someone from the losing side of that war.
If you've got some spare money. Do yourself a favour, no matter what country you come from & pick up this series. It explains a lot about what America should be about & seems to have lost.
As it's 13 hours of TV with food for thought in every hour. Be aware if you rent it you won't have enough time to appreciate it, or it'll cost you a fortune to re-rent it.
I've still got a few more episodes to go, so I better finish my pint & head off to the DVD player.

A miracle! ?
This afternoon in the launderette. I took all the socks I'd taken to wash, out of the drier. Started pairing them up and...
THERE WERE NO ODD SOCKS LEFT!
This leads to a whole plethora of theological type questions:
- Is this a genuine miracle?
- Should I e-mail The Pope?
- Has The Pope got an e-mail adress?
- Is it the launderette that is miraculous. Or Just the drier I put my socks in?
- The launderette is run by Asians, Sikhs I think. Maybe I should inform the local Temple, rather than The Pope.
- Can Miracles be experienced by unbelievers?
- Does this mean I've had my luck for today & It's not worth doing the Lottery?
- Should I E-mail the Fortean Time with this unusual event?
- Has this event caused a massive disruption in the space time continum?
- Could there be some sort of dimensional portal to the plane of lost socks in the launderette?
Current mood:Wonderment

Lights, Lakeman & late nights
Been back to my roots the last two nights. Doing lights, which is how I got started in the Rock 'n' Roll Babylon business.
I don't normally like working for 'the house'. Why, is too long a tale. I did the jobs to help a pal out.
Last night purgatory & one of the reasons I don't like to do this particular job. A metal band called 'Sikth' with two other metal bands in support. The sort of stuff I used to know as Thrash Metal. Fuck knows what they call it now. It's the sort of stuff I just can't get a handle on. It sounds to me like they play about seven different tunes in one. All at the same time, all very fast & all far too loud. Maybe that was why I was in such a sour mood in the pub afterwards. (blogs passim)
Tonight, what a change. Some bloke called Seth Lakeman. Won the Mercury Prize apparently. I'd never heard of him. I was expecting a quiet accoustic night, changing the lighting state at the the end of every song. Nah!
He's quite rocky in a 'Jethro Tull' without the flute & 'New Model Army' for people that wash sort of way. Did a pretty good job of the lamps. Even if I do say so myself. Probably because I was enjoying myself. Doing something I'd forgotten I could enjoy.
Loads of posh totty there, nearer my age as well.Disappointingly mostly with Husbands or boyfriends in tow. Ah well.
Then upstairs to have my soul sucked out by the clubnight & load it out, ready for some bunch of noisy bastards called 'The Ordinary Boys' a 'Specials' tribute band from what I've heard of them.
Ah well off to kip.

Mind you...
...it's better than TV. Watching twats trying to persuade Swamp Donkeys to fuck them. Along with couples where the bloke thinks he's a Rock God & the look on his bored missus's face tells you he's not.

What the fuck am I doing in this pub?
I know what I'm doing here. They're still serving :)
The Giffard Wolverhampton. Full of Rock throwbacks listening to music I used to like. It's like falling through a 20 year time warp.
If I was to walk out & leave a bomb that killed everyone in the place the IQ average of the human race would rise. Just murdering the DJ, that thinks driving the system to distortion is cool, should get me an award of some sort.
Mind you sitting here with the virtual shotgun is amusing enough.

The Fifth Element. Sitting in the pub.
Forgotten how good this film was. I am so glad I got given this film.
I have just heard the phrase " I'm going to put the picture on myspace" From a group of people showing each other pictures on their phones. They don't look like a bunch of geeks.
Joe Average is getting the hang of technology. This could be a good thing. It means the cost of techno fun will come down.
