Pants

default

Two odd things today. I came down to the street level, and found a black cab. It was a new black cab, and the driver was about number 48000, making him an experienced and safe Beijing cabbie. (You always check the cabbie number on entry; above 200,000 you sit in the back with a seatbelt on)

And oddly, I had used the same cab, and same driver, the previous day. With 300,000 cabs in Beijing, that's an odd thing. Very odd.

After picking up my colleague at the hotel, a short trip down the 3rd ring took us to Guomao, where we got out to allow her to admire the "pants", otherwise known as the CCTV building, and the second biggest office building in the world - after the Pentagon. A normal-ish day followed.

The second odd thing happened about 12 hours later, when I was leaving the hotel after the days work and a drink in the bar.

I got the same cabbie who had driven me home the previous day.

Odd

Very odd.
