List-less...by one!

Yep. That's another one off the list. What I am on about is that itinerary I cobbled together in my post of June the 25th. At the time it wasn't meant to be that significant but it has provided me with something to focus on - I guess I am not used to being on holiday!

Early this afternoon I found myself on a train, Waterloo bound. I met up with my mate as planned, and we headed off with the sole aim of completing item 1 - to visit Scandinavian Kitchen. One thing I was glad of was the lull in the incessant heat - it made the short tube journey to Oxford Circus very comfortable, and as we were travelling out of peak times, the crowds on the train were minimal. The walk from the tube station to Great Titchfield Street did not take long, and as I saw the familiar red awning that was No 61, I felt a sense of de ja vue. I had obviously spent to much time on the stores website!

default  1st on the list

The waitress who served me was really nice, and she ran me through the various food options. I went for a selection of five open sandwiches - these had a Rye Bread base, and I had pate, beef, Danish Meatball and two salmon based toppings. Each topping came with a selection of vegetables and garnishes such as Dill, and they really tasted as good as they sound - my one regret was not trying one of the many cakes and pastries that were on offer. I suppose there is always next time...

It was definitely a case of mission accomplished - according to the list that's two down, two to go. All that remained to be done was to stop off at Wimbledon to have a couple of celebratory pints at the Prince of Wales.
