AWOL

Hullo folks, this isn't Diva, it's that Nagnagnag bloke, as she's too ill right now to come to the PC (don't worry it's not life threatening, just her ME causing problems. She should be right as rain in a month or so and as far as we know all's well with her 'other' medical condition).

Diva's asked me to do a quick blog because she knows that Platform27 has been dwindling of late and she doesn't want people to think she's also decided to bugger off elsewhere. She is, at present, very unwell and bedridden, but on medication that should hopefully keep her from having to go into hospital (touching wood as I type this). She's missing blogging very much and says that as soon as she can find a window of energy she'll be on the PC checking everyone out and as she puts it "Wibbling on about her usual bollocks".

She asked me to come on here and pop up an update on her blog for anyone who is interested (or bored).

In the meantime here's some music. Badah dah di dah dum dah duuum duuuum, badah dah di dah dum dah duuum dah daaaaah......

Surprise Surprise!

What a weekend!

I had originally told nagnagnag that I would be taking him to a quiet dinner for two for his birthday on Saturday because nobody else was free to make it but, in reality his friends could make it as I had planned a surprise do :o) I had invited 7 of his mates to meet us at the restaurant and somehow we all kept it totally quiet.

At the restaurant Amylou had brought some rolls for breakfast the next day for those sleeping over, Livsylou had brought the birthday cake and Darryll (lou? LOL) ordered some starters and drinks for me to keep the troops nourished before I brought nagnagnag to the restaurant. Amy and Livs also sorted out the seating plan I had agonised over. I wanted everyone to be near someone they would really have fun with and for nags to be right in the middle of it all and I think it worked out perfectly as everyone was laughing all the time and got on like a house on fire and nags was able to chat to everyone with ease :oD

Poor Pandy was supposed to be at the party but at the last minute her family changed her flight plans and she had to be at the airport on Saturday night instead of Sunday night. She was such a sweetie that despite all this she made sure she posted nagnagnag's birthday pressie and card in time for me to give it to him on his birthday, bless her bum :o)

It was a VERY stressful time leading up to the party, not only for keeping it all secret but also because poor Amy and Livs were delayed by trains on the day, so I had to stall nagnagnag by having make up emergencies before we left the house. Finally Ames and Livs made it and nags and I reached the restaurant and were shown to our table (with everyone holding up menus to their faces to hide until the last minute) nagnagnag was utterly shocked beyond belief when we all shouted "Surprise!" and everyone dropped their menus!

He was so happy and the restaurant gave him a champagne cocktail on the house. We ate fabulous food and scoffed delicious birthday cake and nags opened some brilliant presents, including a sexy policeman's outfit which had a photo of his face stuck to the models body on the box cover! LOL

While we were there we were bluetoothing photos of the night to each other when we spotted a name we had seen at the Xmas dinner we had last year in December - Manwell Hung! At that point everyone switched on their bluetooth and we discovered some pretty silly names flying about, I do think some were jokes from people at the table though ;o)

After our meal and plenty of cocktails (mylozmom: non-alcoholic ones for me! ;o) we went back home and continued to have giggles there. Later we turned in for the night and said goodbye to the guests that were off home.

The next day nagnagnag opened the rest of the presents I had bought him and then we went downstairs to get breakfast for Amy and Livs. We had bacon rolls for breakfast and watched nags open the rest of his cards and blow out the candle on his second (but dinky) birthday cake.

We then had a lovely day chilling out and having a good laugh. At about 6pm we dropped the girls off at the station and went home to rest up. I'm pretty sure nagnagnag enjoyed his weekend but I don't think I'll be doing another surprise do, it was such a strain keeping everything a secret, but for this time it was definitely worth it to see the huge smile that stayed on nags face all weekend! ;o)

Here's the photostory for those of you that were there and for those of you that weren't and want to see :o)

CLICKY CLICKY FOR THE PICCIES

Rightyho, despite taking it fairly easy today I'm still in dire need of some rest so I'm off to get some. I will reply to all my emails and stuff probably tomorrow evening but I need a day off again today so I'm on strike (sort of ;o)

In the mean time big love and platonic snogs to you all and an extra special shout out to Feathers and Flighty who both left some lovely blog posts for nags, sent him birthday texts and a Henkie type e-card. Thank you for making him grin a mile wide you guys, bless both your sweet cotton socks! ;oD
