Oh wait - it's back

Neat!  We now again have about four inches of snow to play in.  Came in just today.  Luckily I just got my truck back from the garage on Friday.  $800 worth of clutch work on it.  The throwout bearing started making noises on startup so I though I'd better get it fixed.  In the old VW's I used to drive, I could pull an engine in about two hours and replace the clutch disk/throwout bearing and have the engine back in.  These days it just isn't so.  Gotta unhook all the doodads and whatchamacallets from the transmission and then drop it.  Never should have gone past four horses and a big pooper-scooper.

 We got out all our Christmas cards today so we can relax just a tad.  On Monday we drop all the packages at the post office.  Gonna be a mob scene there I bet.

Snowsgoneaway

Well, shoot.  The snow is gone now.  Drowned in rain - almost an inch of it (0.93) over a 24-hour period.  Back to slogging through grey skies and cold blasts of air.

On the other hand, it provides a great excuse to stay indoors and work on my virtual railroad project.  I have almost completed an entire section from milepost 32 all the way up to milepost 51.  Just a little bit more to go with the finishing touches and I can move on to other things on the route.  For further info, see my entries in "The DHR".

Still settling down from our cruise.  Seems like neither one of us want to fix anything to eat.  Much better to have it prepared for you and all you have to do is sit down and eat it.

Houston - we have snow!

Wonderful snow!  I woke up this morning with 4-5 inches already on the ground and more coming down.  Looks really great outside.  Later today maybe I'll fire up the 4-wheel pickup and go driving in it.
