It's always something
Two days after pronouncing me clear (still) from cancer, the doc then calls me and wants to do a prostate biopsy. Way to go, Doc! How to bring me down from a high. Sometimes I wonder if they sit around all day and think of ways to mess with your mind. I've had three of these things already in the last three years -- all with negative results. So, here we go with number four.
Sad New video on the site
Dave has added a new video on the site now. It's a short clip showing the train as it comes down the street in the middle of hillside bazaars. The train really does do this. It's awesome to watch the DVD's we have of the train. Sometimes the clearance between shops and train is measured in inches - literally. I can imagine how it would feel to have the engine's lower water blow valve pop off just as it is passing your store. Ahhhh, a nice blast of steam and water really does clean a shop out. NOT! Anyway, the cat's coat has been brushed LOL.
A few days later......
It's Saturday now. Bummer of a day. Rained over an inch last night and more on the way. At least we didn't get as much as Kentucky did. They got hit with tornados.
Good news Friday. The results of my two-year CT scan following my left kidney removal for cancer is totally negative (Whoopee!). Here's hoping it stays that way.
Now, all I have to do is lose more weight and I'll be ready for my Holland America cruise down Mexico way from San Diego. Gad! The last time I was in San Diego was for Navy boot camp in 1962.
Gonna shut down now - more bad weather. I have UPS's but when they start chiming it's time to turn the whole mess off.

There is a web site we maintain for updates on our project. The URL is: http://darjeelingtrainz.com
On this site we put all kinds of info and pictures about our virtual railroad. Take a look at it for some idea as to what we are doing.
Current mood:
Cool My activity in the re-creation of the DHR.
The DHR - Darjeeling Himalayan Railroad - is currently under construction by a group of dedicated people as a virtual railroad modelled after a real railroad in India. We have been hard at work for some time now and are making great progress towards reproducing this remarkable railroad in the virtual world using Trainz 2004, an extraordinary bit of software from Auran (an Austrailian company).
A bit of information:
The line runs from an altitude of just over 400 feet to better than 7400 feet at Ghum. and then slightly downhill to Darjeeling.
I entire run is just 52.6 miles from Siliguri Town to Darjeeling.
The gauge of the track is just 2 foot narrowgauge.
For the most part, the railroad follows the path of the Hill Cart Road, which was there first. This road was previously used by oxcarts and foot traffic until the building of the railroad.
The line consists of three complete 360-degree loops and 6 "Z"-shaped switchbacks.
There are no signals on the line and it is completely a single line with passing sidings.
The motive power and rolling stock has been in continuous use for over 100 years.

This is my first entry. Not knowing what I am doing makes it a bit hard, but what the heck.
I joined this unique group because my friend, Chippy, is a member. I think it is a great area to just hang out.
BTW - Happy Birthday, Chippy.
